The Weltje Road Experimental Order
Hammersmith & Fulham made the Order on 23 September 2026. It came into force on 7 October 2026 and can remain in place for up to 18 months. The scheme restricts through motor traffic on Weltje Road, subject to permits and exemptions.
- More than 2,000 vehicles a day were recorded using Weltje Road before the restriction, according to public statements cited by residents.
- Traffic may be displaced across the borough boundary onto Chiswick Lane and adjoining Hounslow roads; residents are asking both councils to measure and address that impact.
- The scheme is experimental. H&F can suspend or modify it while the effects on congestion, road safety and air quality are properly assessed.

Useful answers
Will identical letters be ignored?
A council should consider every representation, but a personal account is harder to dismiss as a duplicated campaign response. The builder keeps a common factual core while foregrounding your own evidence.
Is this legal advice?
No. This is a resident-led drafting aid. It helps you organise factual representations and does not replace advice from a qualified solicitor.
